Project Overview

At Knowz, I led the UX/UI and Product Design for this unique Australian AI Search and Knowledge Base platform. Working with cutting-edge AI tools and experts in the field, I applied my passion for technology, human interaction, design and AI to craft a powerful, user-focused experience. This extensive project included designing the Knowz web and mobile apps and building a platform-agnostic design system to ensure consistency. The platform itself features many sections including AI Search, Character Search, AI Assistant Creation, AI Powered Meeting Assistant, Knowledgebase Sharing and more, each designed to accommodate various user roles requiring different flows for each section - below is a small example of my work at Knowz.

AI Search + Character Search

At its core, Knowz is an AI-powered search engine, so my first priority was designing a clean, intuitive search widget and chat-style interaction UI. Above is the minimal Knowz home search page. Below is a recent experiment called “Search With Attitude” — a gamified take that lets users interact with AI characters, each with their own voice and personality. It’s more than just chat or search — it’s a mix of both, with a bit of extra flair to make the experience genuinely fun and useful.

Character Search Flow

It all starts here - and first impressions are just as important as usability and user choice when it comes to logging in or signing up for an app. With that in mind, the login and sign-up modals and flows were carefully designed to be visually engaging, intuitive, and informative, offering users a smooth entry point while providing a brief but clear snapshot of the app’s core capabilities.

Knowledge Bases

Knowledge Bases are central to the Knowz experience - think of them as AI-enhanced workspaces that can be used privately or shared with a team. By adding data to a Knowledge Base, users teach Knowz to better understand their specific context. This works alongside web search and advanced training data to create a truly customizable AI tool. Designing the Knowledge Base UI & UX, as well as its supporting metrics was a complex challenge that required aligning user needs with AI capabilities, while supporting deep integration across the platform.

Design System + Branding

A key part of delivering a consistent and scalable experience across Knowz was utilizing a custom built design system. Platform-agnostic by design, it supports both mobile and web apps through a unified visual language. Alongside this, I developed a comprehensive style guide based on the branding I defined, including color systems, gradients, typography, custom icons, and motion guidelines. The system also featured advanced theming variables, full light/dark mode support, and a library of custom components and widgets tailored to Knowz’s AI-driven functionality. This foundation enabled faster iteration, stronger cross-team collaboration, and a cohesive user experience across every touchpoint.

Knowz Live

Another core feature of Knowz is Knowz Live - an AI-powered meeting companion and mentor that joins meetings as an active Agent. It can interject with corrections, offer suggestions in real time, and respond to direct questions, all informed by the training data within the Knowledge Base. The result is a uniquely intelligent and supportive meeting experience that adds real value without disrupting flow.

Onboarding Tutorial

Alongside thoughtful user experience design, a feature-rich and innovative platform like Knowz demands a welcoming onboarding experience. Whether users discover Knowz by chance or arrive through a team invitation, the onboarding journey must feel tailored, guiding them naturally through the platform's capabilities. To enhance this experience, the platform’s intelligence is represented visually through a friendly animated guide - the distinctive blue orb, offering users a personable and engaging introduction.

I also designed the Knowz Enterprise landing page along with its supporting visuals. It was crafted to stay true to the core brand while introducing a more polished, corporate tone - striking a balance between approachability and professionalism to appeal to enterprise clients.

Rate + Feedback

I designed the in-app rating and feedback flow for Knowz across mobile and desktop, allowing users to quickly leave a review or share suggestions. The goal was to make feedback collection effortless and non-intrusive, helping the team gather insights to guide ongoing product improvements.

Share Knowz

I designed the Share feature to let users easily promote Knowz or collaborate with their team. Users can share the app itself, a screenshot of their current interaction, or even dynamic content like a search thread or custom assistant - enabling seamless knowledge sharing and social engagement.

Payment Plans

I designed the Knowz payment plans interface to clearly present flexible pricing options across all devices. In addition to UI/UX, I contributed to the overall pricing strategy - including plan structure, naming, and feature inclusions - ensuring clarity, scalability, and alignment with user needs.

UX & UI

Led the end-to-end design of a clean, intuitive experience across web and mobile platforms, ensuring consistency, accessibility, and ease of use. Conducted user testing and iterative A/B testing to refine the interface, focusing on high-utility AI features and seamless navigation.

AI Systems Design

Defined and designed core AI interactions, including natural language search, voice input, and Knowz Live meeting features. Created intelligent UI patterns that surface relevant insights and actions based on real-time AI outputs from connected Knowledge Bases.

Branding

Established the Knowz brand from the ground up, developing a modern identity system including colors, gradients, typography, iconography, and motion guidelines. Ensured visual coherence across marketing, product, and enterprise-facing assets

Product Design

Designed and shipped a suite of features such as Knowledge Bases, AI assistants, workflow builders, and enterprise controls. Prioritized usability and scalability through user flows, wireframes, and prototypes aligned with evolving technical constraints and business goals.

Web Design

Built responsive, visually engaging web assets for both marketing and platform use. This included landing pages, documentation portals, and dashboards - all designed to support user onboarding, drive engagement, and communicate the platform’s AI-driven value clearly.

I established the Knowz visual identity from the ground up - including color systems, typography, iconography, and motion, creating a cohesive brand that translated seamlessly across product and marketing. The updated brand helped position Knowz as a modern, intelligent solution in a highly competitive AI-driven tools market.
